An exciting opportunity to develop and co-ordinate the activities of CURRY AND CULTURE: Bangladeshi Heritage Project.

You will have previous experience of community work, the ability to engage with the culture and heritage of the local Bangladeshi people, and pursue an innovative approach to improve and increase awareness of their heritage in the wider communities.

You will liaise closely with relevant partners to prepare and deliver all aspects of this project and organise appropriate training for volunteers to obtain necessary information from community members.

You will need a good understanding of Bangladeshi culture and traditions, and excellent communication, interpersonal skills and proven organisational ability.

You will have the ability to prioritise your workload and possess good IT skills. The ability to speak Bengali (Sylheti) is essential. This is a fixed term contract initially for a year (renewable depending on progress being made). This post is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund.
